Research a Job in the Creative Media Sector

Evaluation       Amy Eaton

I have chosen this particular career because I am very artistic and I like designing. I’m always full of ideas and am good at coming up with things on the spot. It appeals to me because it’s a very varied career, everyday is different and never the same. I didn’t specify in what particular part of graphic design because I would like to experience it all before I specify.

I know that I am suitable for this type of career as I’m organized, full of ideas and am good under pressure. I have already got a GCSE in graphics and a AS is Graphic communications and I’m now doing a media BETC that involves graphic design. The fact that there is a lot of variety within this job appeals to me as the same old day to day same hours type of job doesn’t appeal to me I like the fact that even the hours you work change, there is also the fact that I may get to travel to get more business, who wouldn’t like a free holiday for just designing a new logo or billboard or a chocolate bar rapper.

The fact that I already have graphic design experience from both school and college is a plus for me. They like you to have knowledge of graphic design, art, to be up to date with technology such as adobe and to be able to create ideas both hand drawn and on the pc. All of the above I am able to do some better then others but it is at least a starting point and that I’m on the right path in getting into graphic design. The next step is getting more experience and getting my name know and getting my own portfolio done as this is key for a graphic designer especially freelancers.

Within graphic design it’s self there are a lot of individual ideas where people specialize in a certain type of design. All jobs in the media need graphics in one way or another such as magazine design, journalism and many more.
